Here is a fantastic example of how the info in the building guide can be used to produce your own instrument design. A little thinking and willingness to take the plunge! A+ for initiative and inventiveness.

Yes, the plans were good except I needed more notes, [so] my brother who is very good with wood took your instructions and made one that measures 4' by 19" by 31" high. It looks awesome....

My daughter, Angelica, 18 yrs. old, needed to make a xylophone for physics olympics. Her and two others made instruments and played them at the YSU Physics Olympics. They won 1st place.
